8th grade graduation is a time for celebration. The end of one era gives way to an endless stream of possibilities. Through their time at Sussex, our students join our teachers in an educational journey diving deep into authentic projects that are experiential and place-based. Teachers pursuit their lessons by developing meaningful relationships with students in an effort to grow the whole child and build an engaged community. Through this approach our students graduate with a strong sense of self and a confidence that helps them advocate for themselves, while also developing a keen sense of community and a social responsibility that draws from an emotional intelligence. Our students have been taught to think critically about the issues that surround them, so that they can question, learn, grow, and lead. Congrats to the class 2017; may your Sussex years help you flourish.
"Sussex’s promotion and encouragement of each child’s self esteem and unique abilities contributed to the success of our granddaughter (Baylee ’11) and our grandson, Blake, who is currently enrolled at Sussex. Experiential learning in small classes led by caring and qualified staff make the difference."
