Learn about salsa music and culture. Students will listen to salsa music from different countries, identify the instruments, learn the history and cultural significance of salsa music and dance, and of course, the basic steps for salsa dancing. Students will learn to dance independently, with invitations to partner dance throughout the camp. Students in small groups will have the challenge to choreograph a sequence of salsa steps and perform for the class. Weather- and space-dependent, we will strive to be outside as much as possible!
